Last sneak peak for Clear Dollar Stamps....

This next set has a verse that is very personal to our family.  I purchased a plaque for each of them to hang in their rooms when they were confirmed, and I hope they always find comfort and assurance from it.  It makes a fabulous verse to use on a graduation card as well:

The school colors for Senior High are black and orange, and this Basic Grey set called Ambrosia works so well, without looking Halloween-ish.  The I cut 5 strips of paper in 2 different patterns to layer on this soft nice gray, then layered on 2 sizes of Labels 2 dies (Nestabilities).  A horizontal layer of paper and velvet ric rack and a few buttons finish it off.

On this one, I stamped the sentiment twice and cut out certain words and pop dotted them up on top of the base image:

Again I used the same Basic Grey Ambrosia paper.  I use the small 6X6 paper pads for card making as I love how the patterns are scaled down and perfect for a card.  That cool large brad is from Paper Pizzaz, and again I used my Nestability dies - this time the circle and scallop circle.  What ever did we do without those wonderful dies?  I use mine all the time.

Mushroom and Medallion fun today....

I have more sneak peaks today for you, from the Clear Dollar Stamps June release.  I have a lot to show you today, so let's go!

 

I love love love this medallion stamp.  It is just gorgeously detailed and I know I will use it a lot.  I made this card with craft cardstock and white embossing powder.  The lovely true red cardstock and matching ribbon are from Clear Dollar Stamps.  That round metal edged tag is from Office Max, and the antique looking brad is from Hobby Lobby.  This was a super easy and fast card to put together.  I can see a nice set made with all with craft and different layering colors and sentiments.   Here is another way to use the medallion:

On this one I stamped onto white cardstock with Versamark ink, then randomly rubbed a variety of green and blue chalks over it, which gave a really soft and pretty blended look.  The brads are  Making Memories, and the rub on sentiment is from Ali Edwards. 

Now for a little whimsey - Mushroom Whimsey, to be exact:

Mushrooms (can you say 1970's?) are totally hot right now and this is a fun set.  On this one,I embossed the mushroom and sentiment in black Zing empossing power.  The background paper is from an old textbook I got from the free box at the public library, and the green handmade paper is from a paper pad by Provo Craft.  I got that one from Brenda's free pile at our last crop.  Thanks Brenda ...you are going to see more of that cool paper you didn't want in other cards.

Here is another way to use the mushroom, using paper piecing, one of my favorite things to do:

 
  

That funky 70's looking paper is Cosmo Cricket.  The line has lots of mushrooms and earthy colors that were perfect for this stamp set.  I just strung the twine from the brads and tied on the charms to give it some extra 'action'.

It's sneak peak time again for the June release of new stamps at Clear Dollar Stamps.  I have one set to show you today called Tweet Hello.

I only used a sentimement from the set on this card - I thought it made for a nice thank you type card.  The paper is BasicGrey (Sugar Rush), the flowers are Bo Bunny, and I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder on the white cardstock.  The little metal edge tag is Making Memories from long ago.

Here is a look at one of the images from the set:

The lovely blue cardstock is from Clear Dollar Stamps (called Deep Sea).  The paper is Bo Bunny, and the little paper bag came from Hobby Lobby.  The tag is shown pulled out, but would normally be down in the bag,  I colored it with colored pencils.

Do you like that quote up there?   To me it means that you have time for anything you want to do...you just have to make it a priority.  You have to give up time from one area of your life to put toward another.  Right now, for me that means taking time from something I love to free up time for exercising.  And really, I hate it.  Everything I love to do (paper crafting, sewing, reading, blogging) involves sitting!  Not good.   I know once I start and keep it up, I will like how much bettter I feel.  So I'm walking at work at lunch time (lots up uphill involved!) and walking the dogs at night and on the weekends.  Yes, I DO have time to exercise.  I just don't want to.  But I have a plan and a goal, and self improvement feels worthy and good.  Wish me luck in STICKING TO IT!  Thanks for coming by today and listening to my rambling!  Love ya.  Me.

Day three sneak peaks from Clear Dollar Stamps...

And today I am lucky enough to get to show you the set called Ephesians 2:8-9.  It is a verse that resonates so much with me and my little Lutheran heart! 

I really like this layout, which I probably saw on a sketch site somewhere.  It is perfect for showcasing some beautiful pattern paper (in this case BasicGrey) and a sentiment on the bottom.

Again, I've just got to tell you that these sets, with the fine detailed wording, stamp like a dream.  The acrylic is firm and doesn't smoosh down like some do, and you get a crisp result every time.  This set has 3 stamps and sells for only $3.99.

Clear Dollar Stamps release day two...

I have two sets to show you today, so hang on and let's go!

Here is my favorite set of the release, Tag Blessings:

This is the same box that I made for Easter Baskets.  This time it has tags in the bottom drawer, and cards with envelopes in the top.  The paper is some older but much loved SEI paper called Winnnies Walls. 

 The other set I get to show you is is called Designer Mail.  It has the obvious uses on envelopes, but I wanted to use the stamps in another way.  I really liked the snail, and used it here:

The cute paper is from Bo Bunny, and I cut a slit in the top of the pocket to hold the craft stick "thingies".  Yeah, that is the technical term for those little do-dads.

Clear Dollar Stamps May release sneak peak....

Today begins the sneak peaks of the May release at Clear Dollar Stamps, and I am so excited to be able to show you the samples I made with the set  called Vintage Spice.  Here is the first card:

This set really called out to me, as I collect vintage Schilling Spice cans.  I made this to resemble my red spice cans on their shelf in the kitchen.  I stamped the spice jars on various colors of red cardstock, cut them out,and then glued them to the top of the shelf,which I also stamped and cut out (2 of them, put together).  The background paper, label, and milk die cut are all October Afternoon.  The receipt is a Jenni Bowlin journaling tag, cut down to fit.  The background papers are stitched on, and there is a dab of red stickles on the little label part of the jars.

Here is another card made with Cosmo Cricket-Nutmeg paper:

On this one, I stamped the jars on different pattern papers, and then cut them out and arranged them on the shelf.  I stamped the dried herbs in three different colors of green to give them a little definition and dimension. 

Here is one last idea using the set:

I recently attended a Lia Sophia jewelry party put on by my daugher, and the jewelry was delivered about the time I was making samples.  I LOVE to repurpose boxes, so I covered the slider part of the box.  I had lots of fun playing around with some new Maya Road resist  on the star.  Now that I know how it works, I will do a more realistic job of putting it on to make a shabby worn look. I painted the star cream, put some resist on, then painted it gold.  Once the gold paint was dry, I rubbed the resist off to reveal the cream underneath.  The paper is Close to my Heart.  I put salt and pepper pistachios in the box, so the sentiment fit perfectly.

I just have to say, these acrylic stamps are VERY nice.  The little sentiments stamp up very crisp and nice.
