Quilt #2 done...

This one is for Kelsey, for Christmas.  (Neither girl reads my blog, so I'm safe.) 

 

Coffee time....

 

I could't resist the coffee theme charm pack.  As you can see, I have just a little bit of the binding to finish hand stitching.   The backing is the same as the binding -that lovely polka dot fabric.  I could not get the colors to come out right - this is much richer tones in real like.  The blues are more turquoise colored.  As alwasy, thanks for stopping by and having a look. 

Summer time is bright and fun...

Sunshine yellow, cherry red, pretty pink, lime green and turquoise. Ahh.....

How about some sewing stuff...

 

This is one of the two finished table runners I have to show you.  This red and blue goes SO well in my kitchen, that it will be useful year round. I could not decide whether to use red or blue rick rack....so I used both!  I laid in on my hydrangea bush in my front yard.  The bush is just loaded with small blossoms this year. 

 

Here is purse #2.  Can't wait to get started on #3 - it's black and white. 

I went to a funeral today.  It was for a great guy who got to live 93 years.  And I think he kept a smile on his face for every one of those years.  It is a testament to a life well lived and loved, and certainly a show of great respect, when there are people of all ages at your funeral and the reception to celebrate your life.  You will be missed, Johnny Kinghorn.

Ain't she a beauty!  Yes, she is sitting on my counter on the sewing side of my craft room.  Yesterday I was with Mom and Dad for a while.  On the lists of errands was a stop at Bernina, as Mom was looking for quilt backing fabric for a quilt she is making for my brother Jeff's birthday.  He is turning 50!!!  (I had to put that in there!).  Anyway, I asked the owner of the store if the advertisement I'd been seeing in the paper was for this machine.  Yes indeedy it was, but the sale ended April 30.  Just as well, I was thinking, when she said....if you want to buy it today I will let you have that sale price.  Plus you get a walking foot ($140) and a 1/4 quilting foot ($40) for free.  Plus a card for %20 off all kits and fabric for the next year.  I hemmed and hawed around and told her I would have to talk to my husband.  Then, psst.... and a head beckoning "come over here".....and an offer I could not refuse.  Bank of Dad would pay for the machine and I could pay him back.  SOLD!  Guess what I did for most of today??
