Oh, ain't she a cutie!  She is, however unbelievable it may seem to me, now 22 years old.  Man.  She is happy and healthy and doing a job she loves.  And we are so proud of her and happy for her.  And oh how we miss her!!!

My doily challenge result (#1 of 3!)

First up ....a scrapbook page.  Of, who else, my beautiful daughters, taken last May:

There was a doily printed on the paper already...I cut around part of it to side the picture corner behind it.  Here is a close up:

I used a Maya Road sheer doily...I LOVE those things!  I cut it in half and tucked it here and there:

So there you have it...doilys on a scrapbook page.  More to come tomorrow!

My challenge is to put a doily on it.  I am stuck on them lately and everything I make seems to have one.  You can stamp them.  You can buy paper ones in the cake decorating department at Hobby Lobby,  Michaels and JoAnn's.  You can buy them online in paper, digital, and crochet form from scrapbook companies and on EBAY.    They are sweet and pretty and I love them.  So why not try putting a doily on a card or a scrapbook page and then show us what you did!

Envelope mini album challenge....

This was a fun little album to make.  I read through the tutorial while at work, and then came home and started on it without reviewing the instructions.  I made 2 mistakes...I used VERY stiff craft envelopes and I used SIX, which further compounded the problem.   Six stiff envelopes was too many for the binding measurement, and they don't lay very flat and nice.  But I think it turned out well enough that I am going to give it to our wonderful neighbors in some sort of Easter treats basket that I will put together as a thank you for all the help with our new flooring installation project.  Here are some more pics...

The album was made with LONG hoared Making Memories paper and embellishments.

My challenge project #1.....the page...

I used started by laying out the map and grid paper, topped it with the photo, layed the tags across the top, and then started filling in and fiddling.  It look me a long time to get the little tags across the top the way I wanted them, and I spent a great deal of time sorting through all my travel embellishments, of which I have a lot!

Do you ever have a hard time scrapping a photo from a time that was hard for you?  That is the case with this one...it was taken in June of 2011.  Kelsey had her car packed up and was heading to Georgia and had stopped at Jim's work site for a goodbye kiss and hug.  This will be the left side of a two page spread...the right side will be a photo of Kelsey and Kaitlyn taken that same morning, and I will put the journaling (probably hidden) on that page.

I hope to be back in a day or two with a card based on the same sketch.  In the meantime, be sure to check in with Felicia to see what fabulous-ness she has come up with!

Supplies:  October Afternoon paper, chipboard (tree) and die cut (car), stickers (go-see-do), generic shipping tags, thickers, Kaiser Kraft paper (gold polka dot) and a few other random die cut travel tags.
